Big relief for farmers in Chhattisgarh! Now, paddy procurement tokens can be obtained via mobile—learn about the new rules.

Raipur: In Chhattisgarh, the procurement of paddy at a minimum support price (MSP) for the Kharif marketing year 2026-27 is set to begin on November 15. The state government has already initiated preparations for this. As in the previous year, farmers will not need to stand in long queues at cooperative societies to obtain tokens for selling their paddy. The government has decided to continue the facility of obtaining tokens online via the ‘Tunhar Token’ mobile app. Farmers will be able to book tokens for the sale of their paddy from the comfort of their homes using their mobile phones.

24/7 Online Token Facility

The ‘Tunhar Token’ app, managed by the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, is available on the Google Play Store. Through this app, farmers can obtain tokens online, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This facility eliminates the need for farmers to repeatedly visit cooperative societies to secure a token. It saves both time and effort for the farmers and helps streamline the paddy procurement process.

Tokens Allocated Based on Landholding

The government has determined the maximum number of tokens a farmer can receive based on the extent of their agricultural land. The allocation is as follows:

Farmers with up to 2 acres of land: 1 token.

Farmers with more than 2 acres and up to 10 acres of land: A maximum of 2 tokens.

Farmers with more than 10 acres of land: A maximum of 3 tokens.

This system allows farmers to plan the sale of their paddy according to their eligibility and make advance preparations for transporting the produce to the procurement center.

Remaining Eligibility Retained Even If Not All Paddy Is Sold

This year, farmers will also have the option to specify the quantity of paddy in their token requests. They can obtain an online token by indicating the amount of paddy they wish to sell, based on their specific needs and availability.

If a farmer is unable to sell their entire eligible quantity of paddy using a single token, their remaining eligibility will not be forfeited. In accordance with the rules, they will be able to sell the remaining eligible quantity of paddy using a second or third token.

Convenience for farmers

The online booking system, facilitated through the ‘Tunhar Token’ app, aims to make it easier for farmers to sell their paddy. This will spare them from having to make repeated trips to the societies or stand in long queues to obtain a token. Farmers can secure a token at their own convenience…
