Since September 5 (Saturday) and September 6 (Sunday) follow Janmashtami, many people may also benefit from a continuous stretch of holidays.
Public holiday on September 14 for Hartalika Teej
Subsequently, a public holiday will be observed on September 14, 2026, for Hartalika Teej. Hartalika Teej holds special significance in Chhattisgarh. On this day, government offices as well as relevant educational institutions will remain closed.
Local holiday for Nuakhai
A provision exists for a local holiday on September 15 for the Nuakhai festival. However, local holidays are applicable on a district-wise basis; therefore, confirmation should be sought based on the orders issued by the respective district administration.
