CG New Medical College: The new capital, Naya Raipur, may soon receive a major boost in the form of modern medical education and healthcare facilities. Ayush University has submitted a proposal to the state government to establish a 100-seat medical college on its campus. Once the proposal receives approval, it will be forwarded to the National Medical Commission (NMC) for clearance. The university administration will prepare the architectural designs and plans only after receiving the go-ahead to open the college.
Awaiting Government Approval
The construction process will commence thereafter. Currently, the university administration is awaiting government approval. Reports indicate that while clearance has been obtained from the Finance Department, administrative approval is still pending, preventing the administration from proceeding further. Efforts to establish the college will begin once administrative approval is granted.
University to Run the Medical College Itself
According to the university administration, the medical college will be operated from the Ayush University campus. Additionally, a state-of-the-art 300-bed teaching hospital affiliated with the medical college will be established near Naya Raipur; this will provide students with quality clinical training while offering superior healthcare services to the general public.
Plans to Launch PG Courses After UG
University officials state that the proposal to open the medical college is being seriously considered at the government level. Upon receiving approval, the necessary procedures will be completed in compliance with NMC standards. NMC clearance will pave the way for launching the MBBS course at the medical college. Officials noted that the MBBS course will be introduced first, followed by the creation of necessary facilities for postgraduate (PG) seats, after which PG courses will also be conducted.
