Manju Jangid—a daughter of Khadin village and daughter-in-law of Chava village in Barmer—has been selected for deployment to the African nation of Congo as part of a United Nations peacekeeping mission. She has departed with the Border Security Force’s (BSF) 19th contingent, a 160-member unit that includes 24 female personnel. Manju Jangid has made history by becoming the first female BSF constable from Barmer to serve in the United Nations peacekeeping force.

Manju’s husband, Ishwarlal Suthar, works as a carpenter in Chava village and fully supported her in realizing this dream.
