In Chhattisgarh, 4,670 families received the gift of permanent homes this Diwali; the Sai government has provided a major boon.

Raipur. This Diwali has brought a gift of joy to urban poor families in Chhattisgarh. Thanks to the efforts of the Sai government, the dream of owning a permanent, concrete house is set to become a reality for thousands of needy families in the state. On the occasion of Diwali, the Central government has approved 4,670 new houses for Chhattisgarh under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0. These houses have been sanctioned under the Beneficiary-Led Construction (BLC) component.

This approval covers 84 urban local bodies across 27 districts of the state. It will provide significant relief to poor families who have long been waiting for a permanent home of their own.

Total of 76,086 houses approved so far

Prior to this, under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0, the Central government had already sanctioned 55,953 houses under the BLC component and 15,463 houses under the Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP) component—bringing the previous total to 71,416 houses.

With the addition of these 4,670 new units, the number of houses sanctioned under the BLC component has risen to 60,623. Including the 15,463 houses under the AHP component, the Central government has now approved a total of 76,086 houses for the state across both components.

Government’s goal is to provide a permanent home to every eligible family: CM Sai

Expressing his happiness over the approval of the 4,670 new houses, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Housing for All.’ He stated that the state government is making continuous efforts to achieve this goal rapidly in Chhattisgarh.

Congratulating all the families who received approval for their new homes, the Chief Minister noted that this sanction paves the way for thousands of urban poor families to realize their dream of owning a permanent, concrete house. The state government is committed to providing housing to every eligible family.

He stated that this gift, received on the occasion of Diwali, is truly special for families in need. Having a permanent house will not only provide them with a safe roof over their heads but will also offer a life of dignity and new hope for a better future.
