New Delhi: Security arrangements have been tightened across Delhi-NCR in view of the proposed protest by the ‘Cockroach Janta Party’ (CJP) against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar. Meanwhile, YouTuber Dhruv Rathee, who was supporting the protest, was detained by the police from his residence in Gurugram. Rathee resides in Gurugram’s Sector-67 and had been consistently supporting the CJP’s protest.
Police forces have been deployed in various parts of the national capital in anticipation of the protest. The Delhi Police had denied permission for the demonstration, citing security concerns and procedural requirements.
Subsequently, the police stepped up precautionary measures. Personnel have been deployed at strategic locations to prevent protesters from reaching the protest site.
According to reports, approximately 150 protesters have been detained so far from various locations in the New Delhi area. Close surveillance is being maintained regarding the security situation in the capital in connection with the protest.
