Raipur: A tragic building collapse in Delhi’s Satya Niketan area on Sunday shattered the happiness of a family from Chhattisgarh’s Durg district. Yuvraj Soni, a resident of Durg, lost his life in the incident. The 20-year-old was a second-year B.Com student at Motilal Nehru College, Delhi University, and was staying at a boys’ PG accommodation in Satya Niketan. According to reports, Yuvraj was speaking to his childhood friend, Aryan, on the phone just moments before the tragic accident occurred.
The two were planning a trip together during the time available after the holidays. During the conversation, a loud and terrifying rumbling sound was suddenly heard over the phone, and the call disconnected about a minute later. Aryan expected Yuvraj to call back, but shortly thereafter, he received news of the building collapse in Satya Niketan. He immediately rushed to the scene, where relief and rescue operations were underway. Aryan made inquiries at various places to locate Yuvraj. After searching for a considerable time, he received information from the AIIMS Trauma Center that Yuvraj had died in the accident.
It is reported that Yuvraj had returned to Delhi from his home in Durg just three days prior to the incident. Yuvraj and Aryan had been friends since childhood and hailed from the same village. They were planning to go on a trip together soon after Yuvraj’s return to Delhi.
