According to Water Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh, notices have been issued to all these defaulters, directing them to clear their dues by August 15, 2026.

The Delhi Jal Board has made it clear that strict legal action will be taken if the dues are not cleared within the stipulated timeframe. In such cases, the Board has the authority to attach (seize) and seal the concerned property. Therefore, those who have received notices are advised to pay their bills on time.

Under this scheme, consumers can avail a waiver of up to 70% on the late payment surcharge by paying the principal outstanding amount. This scheme is available to both domestic and commercial consumers. This scheme, which previously offered a full waiver and was valid until January 31, 2026, has now been extended to August 15, 2026.
