IAS Mudra Raheja: Mudra Raheja, an officer of the 2025 batch of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), will now serve in the Rajasthan cadre. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) under the Central Government has changed her cadre from Tripura to Rajasthan. This inter-cadre transfer has been approved on the grounds of her marriage. Mudra Raheja is married to Siddharth Srivastava, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer belonging to the Rajasthan cadre. Under the rules governing All India Services, married IAS and IPS officers are facilitated to serve in the same state wherever possible.
DoPT Approval Based on Marriage
According to the order issued by the DoPT, Mudra Raheja was initially allocated the Tripura cadre. Following her marriage, she requested an inter-cadre transfer, which the Central Government accepted. As per the provisions of the All India Services, if both spouses are officers of the All India Services, they may be permitted to be posted in the same cadre, balancing administrative requirements with family considerations.
Who is IAS Mudra Raheja?
Mudra Raheja hails from Delhi and has family roots in Sonipat, Haryana. She was born on January 17, 1998. She holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree. Prior to her success in the UPSC examination, she secured the sixth rank at the state level in the Haryana Civil Services (HCS) examination conducted by the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC). Her optional subject for the UPSC examination was Sociology.
From IPS to IAS
Mudra Raheja succeeded in the UPSC examination in two consecutive attempts. Initially, she secured All India Rank 413 in the UPSC CSE 2023, leading to her selection for the Indian Police Service (IPS). Subsequently, she was selected for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) after securing All India Rank 252 in the UPSC CSE 2024. She is an IAS officer of the 2025 batch. Training Underway at LBSNAA
Currently, Mudra Raheja is undergoing training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie. Upon completion of her training, she will join the Rajasthan government. Subsequently, the state government may appoint her as an Assistant Collector or Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) for her initial field posting.
