If you plan to travel by train, check this first: New dates, routes, and booking updates for 216 special trains.

New Delhi: There is good news for rail passengers. Travelers on Central Railway routes will continue to benefit from additional train services in the coming months. In view of the rising demand for travel, Central Railway has decided to extend the operational period of 216 special train services. Announcing this on the social media platform X, Central Railway stated that this is a significant step for the convenience of passengers. According to the Railways, the operation of these special trains will continue, keeping in mind the increasing number of passengers and travel demand. The services extended by the Railways include 150 daily special trains and 66 weekly special trains. This will provide passengers with better ticket availability and travel options. The Railways has not announced any changes to the train timings, routes, or stoppages; meaning, these trains will continue to run on their existing schedules and routes. This decision brings relief, especially to passengers who travel regularly on these routes or require extra trains during festivals and holidays.

Which train services have been extended?
Central Railway has extended the operational period of several special trains running between Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar. This includes both daily and weekly trains.

Daily Special Trains
The operation of the Pune-Danapur Daily Special (Train No. 01449) was originally scheduled until July 15, 2026. It has now been extended from July 16 to September 28, 2026. This will provide passengers with the benefit of 75 additional train services. Similarly, the Danapur-Pune Daily Special (Train No. 01450), which was previously scheduled to run until July 17, 2026, will now continue from July 18 to September 30, 2026. There have been no changes to the coach composition of these trains. These trains will continue to feature the same composition: one AC 2-Tier coach, five AC 3-Tier coaches, six Sleeper coaches, four General Second Class coaches, two Second Seating coaches, and one brake van.

Weekly Special Trains to Continue
In view of the rising passenger demand, Central Railway has decided to extend the operations of six weekly special train services. These trains will provide added convenience to passengers traveling between Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar. The Railways stated that this decision was made considering the increasing number of passengers and the demand for tickets. Currently, there are no changes to the train timings, routes, or stoppages; passengers will be able to travel on these special trains just as before.
