Impact on Delhi Metro during the BRICS Summit! VIP movement to cause inconvenience at stations including the Supreme Court.

Due to stringent security arrangements in the capital during the BRICS Summit, commuters may face difficulties navigating both roads and certain Delhi Metro stations. Enhanced surveillance and restrictions are likely to be imposed at metro station entry and exit points for security reasons. Bharat Mandapam is the main venue for the summit. The Supreme Court and Mandi House metro stations, located nearby, are expected to be most affected by these security measures; passenger movement at these stations may be regulated, and entry or exit points could be temporarily restricted if necessary.

In light of the security arrangements for the BRICS Summit, the Supreme Court metro station might remain completely closed on Saturday and Sunday. However, no formal advisory has been issued regarding this yet. A final decision on closing the station or restricting passenger movement will be taken based on the security agencies’ final arrangements. Additionally, high VIP movement is expected around the Mandi House, ITO, Indraprastha, and Delhi Gate metro stations, which could impact passenger flow. For security reasons, these stations might be fully closed for short periods, or specific entry and exit gates could be shut to the public if required.

Impact of VIP Movement on Other Metro Stations

VIP movement during the BRICS Summit may also affect several other metro stations across the capital. Stations such as Lok Kalyan Marg, Dhaula Kuan, Aerocity, Janpath, Sewa Tirth, Central Secretariat, Patel Chowk, Rajiv Chowk, INA, and Khan Market will fall within the security zone. Passenger movement at these stations could be temporarily disrupted during the passage of VIP convoys. Entry and exit points might be temporarily regulated, or specific gates closed, for security purposes. Commuters are likely to face greater inconvenience on Saturday and Sunday, as the main events of the BRICS Summit are scheduled for these days.
