LPG e-KYC Deadline: Here is important news for domestic LPG gas connection holders. The deadline for completing the e-KYC process for gas connections has been extended once again. Consumers now have until September 30, 2026, to complete their e-KYC. Previously, the deadline was set for September 14.
Despite repeated appeals from the government to complete e-KYC, a large number of consumers have not yet finished the process. Consequently, they have now been asked to complete their KYC within this final deadline.
What might change from October 1?
LPG consumers who fail to complete the e-KYC process by the stipulated time will not be eligible for subsidized gas cylinders. However, this will not result in the disconnection of the gas supply; such consumers may be provided with non-subsidized cylinders at market rates.
According to reports, oil companies are preparing to implement a dual-pricing system for LPG cylinders. This system could be reintroduced after nearly a decade. However, the specific companies involved will clarify the final dates and detailed rules regarding this.
What do LPG consumers need to do?
If the Biometric Aadhaar Authentication (BAA) for your LPG connection has not yet been completed, you should get your e-KYC done as soon as possible. This process can be completed via both online and offline methods.
For online e-KYC, you can use the mobile app of your respective LPG company. Additionally, UIDAI’s ‘Aadhaar FaceRD’ app may be required for Aadhaar-based face authentication. After logging into the app using your registered mobile number, select the e-KYC option, fill in the necessary details, and complete the face authentication.
e-KYC can also be done at the gas agency
If you face difficulties completing the e-KYC online, you can visit your gas agency to finish the process. The connection holder will need to visit the agency with their Aadhaar card. e-KYC can be completed there through biometric verification.
This e-KYC process is free of charge; therefore, consumers do not need to pay any fee for it. Completing the e-KYC process by September 30, 2026, is mandatory to continue availing the subsidy benefits.
