Kolkata Rape-Murder Case: Sanjay Roy has been made the main accused in the rape and murder case of a junior female doctor at RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. According to CBI sources, statements of about 200 people have been recorded in the charge sheet in the case.Â

In this case of rape and murder, junior doctors sat on a hunger strike last Saturday (5 October). They said that Mamata Banerjee’s government in West Bengal is not fulfilling their demands, due to which they are now forced to resort to this hunger strike.
Doctors were on strike for not fulfilling their demands
The junior doctors sat on a hunger strike at Dorina Crossing in Dharmatala last Friday. They had given 24 hours to the West Bengal government to fulfill their demands as promised. Regarding this, a junior doctor said that the state government has not fulfilled their demands within the given time limit.
Therefore, we are starting a hunger strike to fulfill our demands and to ensure transparency in this, CCTV cameras have also been installed on the stage where their doctor colleagues will fast.
Allegations against West Bengal government
In this entire case, the main accused Sanjay Rai was arrested. On the other hand, the Mamata Banerjee government seems to be badly trapped in this. The Bharatiya Janata Party is attacking Mamata Banerjee regarding this.
Due to this case, many types of allegations are being made against the West Bengal government, such as downplaying the case and also accusing it of hiding evidence. The situation was such that many doctors had stopped going to duty regarding this case, but after many efforts and looking at the conditions, now the doctors have started going to duty.
