Rajasthan News: A major accident occurred on Monday during construction work in the capital, Jaipur. The roof of a building under construction at the Forest Training Institute (FTI) complex in Bajaj Nagar suddenly collapsed. Several laborers working on the roof at the time were trapped under the debris. Chaos ensued at the site following the incident, and rescue operations were launched immediately. Upon receiving the information, a Civil Defence team arrived at the scene, extricated the trapped laborers, and transported them to the Trauma Center at Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital.
The sudden arrival of a large number of injured individuals necessitated immediate arrangements for additional medical care at the hospital. Preliminary reports indicate that 11 laborers were injured in the accident. Among them are Lala Ram, Rajiv Kumar, Nitish Kumar, Udit, Pramod, Baku, Kartik, Pramod, and Sonu. All the laborers are reported to be natives of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Police from the Bajaj Nagar station also arrived at the site upon learning of the incident and initiated an investigation into the cause. Initial suspicions suggest the accident was caused by a technical failure in the shuttering during roof construction, though this will only be officially confirmed following an investigation. Dr. Rajendra Mandia, Nodal Officer at the SMS Hospital Trauma Center, stated that 11 laborers were injured when the roof of the Forest Department building under construction at the FTI complex in Jhalana collapsed. All are undergoing treatment, and fortunately, their conditions are reported to be stable.
