Big action by ECI : Before the Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission has taken big action. The Election Commission has removed the Home Secretary of Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Not only this, the Election Commission has also removed the DGP of West Bengal. The Election Commission has issued an order in this regard. According to the order, the Election Commission has also removed the Secretary of General Administrative Department in Mizoram and Himachal Pradesh.
Not only this, sources said that the Election Commission has also ordered the removal of BMC i.e. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal, Additional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners. Although no reason was immediately given for this action against Election Commission officials, but sources say that these changes have been made to ensure equal competition and maintain the integrity of the election process.
The Election Commission has directed all state governments to transfer those officers associated with election related work who have completed three years or are in their home districts. Let us tell you that voting for 543 Lok Sabha seats in the country will be held in seven phases between April 19 and June 1. Counting of votes will take place on June 4.
