New Delhi: Delhi University (DU) has offered significant relief to students awaiting their Class 12 re-evaluation results from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). DU has clarified that students whose revised results have not yet been released should proceed to apply for undergraduate admission based on their existing marks. They will be given an opportunity to update their marks once the results are declared.
Revised results yet to be declared
DU has initiated the admission process for undergraduate courses for the 2026-27 academic session. Meanwhile, a large number of students who applied for mark verification or re-evaluation are still awaiting their revised results. In light of this, DU has put this arrangement in place to alleviate student concerns. According to DU officials, students whose re-evaluation results are pending should apply by entering their previously declared marks. Once the revised results are released, they will be able to update their marks on the admission portal.
Admission primarily based on CUET scores
Officials stated that students need not panic, as the application portal will remain open for several weeks, and the facility to update marks will be available even after the results are declared. Admission to undergraduate courses at DU is primarily based on CUET scores. Class 12 marks are considered only to verify that the candidate has passed the examination. Class 12 marks are used as a tie-breaker only if two candidates secure identical scores in the entrance exam. According to CBSE, approximately 1.68 lakh Class 12 students applied for mark verification or re-evaluation this year. Revised results for about 1.47 lakh of these students have already been released. The results for the remaining 20,000 students are likely to be declared in the coming days. DU announced that for the 2026-27 academic session, admission to over 100 subject combinations across 73 undergraduate courses offered by the university’s 67 colleges will be based solely on CUET scores. In the second phase of the admission process, candidates will be required to map the subjects studied in Class 12 with the subjects of the entrance test and subsequently indicate their preferences for colleges and courses. The university will release a detailed schedule for the second phase separately.
