A massive dust storm swept across Rajasthan’s Churu district on Monday, severely disrupting traffic movement as strong winds and dense clouds of dust reduced visibility to near zero in several areas.
Visuals from the region showed thick dust engulfing highways and surrounding areas, forcing motorists to slow down or temporarily halt their journeys amid hazardous driving conditions. Authorities urged commuters to exercise caution as visibility dropped drastically during the storm.
The dust storm is part of a series of intense pre-monsoon weather events that have affected several parts of Rajasthan in recent weeks. Churu and other districts in the state have witnessed recurring dust storms, strong winds, and weather-related disruptions during the season.
Weather experts attribute such dust storms to pre-monsoon atmospheric conditions common across Rajasthan and the Thar Desert region. Similar storms in recent weeks have impacted transportation, power infrastructure, and daily life across multiple districts.
No immediate reports of casualties or major damage were available, while local authorities continued to monitor the situation.
