Nora Fatehi: Trouble seems to be mounting for Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi. Certain social media posts she shared regarding a flight have now sparked a legal dispute. An aviation company has filed a defamation suit against the actress, seeking ₹3 crore in damages. The company has also demanded a public apology from her.
According to PTI reports, the dispute stems from videos Nora Fatehi recorded inside a Cessna Citation CJ2 while traveling from Mumbai to Jaipur last December. She later shared these videos on Instagram, where she allegedly referred to the aircraft as “miniature,” a “toy,” and a “Lego airplane.”
Dunes Aviation claims that the impact of Nora’s comments extended beyond social media. It is alleged that her online following amplified the comments, leading to booking cancellations. The company states that the posts caused a 15–20% drop in bookings and a rise in cancellations. Dunes Aviation alleges that this resulted in financial loss as well as damage to its goodwill. In the lawsuit filed in April, the aviation company described Nora’s comments as “careless, irresponsible, and made without any technical knowledge, verification, or factual basis.” The company further alleged that through her social media posts, Nora Fatehi caused “serious damage to reputation and goodwill, and a negative commercial impact.”
Dunes Aviation has also addressed Nora’s comments regarding the aircraft’s suitability and safety. The company maintained that the Cessna Citation CJ2 was appropriately sized for the journey and that the aircraft was fully DGCA-certified, airworthy, and being operated legally under a valid NSOP. An aviation company has sought damages of ₹3 crore in the case filed against Nora Fatehi. The company has requested the court to order the removal of the actress’s social media posts and online content that mention the aircraft in question. Additionally, a demand has been made for Nora to issue an apology. The court will hear the matter on September 25.
