New Delhi: There is good news for train passengers. If you have forgotten to pack essentials like a mobile charger, medicines, or other daily necessities, there is no need to worry. Passengers can now order essential items via Blinkit while traveling on a moving train. This service has currently been launched as a pilot project at select railway stations.
While the option to order food online during a train journey has already become quite popular, the Railways has now taken a step further by facilitating the delivery of essential items to passengers. This service will make it easier for travelers to procure items they might suddenly need during their journey.
Agreement between the Railways and Blinkit
The Railways is continuously exploring new initiatives to provide better facilities to passengers. As part of this effort, the Salem Division of Southern Railway has entered into an agreement with the quick-commerce platform, Blinkit. For now, this service has been introduced as a pilot project; depending on the outcomes, it may be expanded to other railway stations in the future.

Through this service, passengers can order a variety of items based on their needs, including:
Medicines and medical supplies
Mobile chargers and other electronic accessories
Personal care and hygiene products
Food, beverages, and snacks
Items for children
Please note that the availability of items will depend on the services and stock offered by Blinkit at the respective railway station.
How to order items while on a train?
Passengers can follow a few simple steps to order essential items during their journey:
Open the Blinkit app on your mobile device.
Enter the location or PIN code of the railway station where you wish to receive the items.
Select the items you need and add them to your cart.
When placing the order, provide details such as the train name, train number, coach number, and berth number. Once the train reaches the designated station, collect your items from the specified delivery point.
