PM Modi Honored with Kuwait’s Top Award: Becomes First Indian Leader to Receive ‘Order of Mubarak Al Kabir’ – 19 Nations Have Yet Honored Him
PM Modi Kuwait Visit: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received 20 international honors so far. Earlier, Bill Clinton, Prince Charles and George Bush had received this honor.
PM Modi Kuwait Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been awarded the highest honour, the Order of Mubarak Al Kabir, on the second day of his Kuwait visit. This honour was given to him by Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Modi is the first Indian PM to receive this honour. This is the 19th international honour that Modi has received from any country.
The Order of Mubarak Al Kabir is a knighthood order of Kuwait. This award is given to heads of state and foreign rulers and members of foreign royal families as a sign of friendship. Earlier, this award has been given to foreign leaders like Bill Clinton, Prince Charles and George Bush.
At the same time, PM Modi posted on social media platform X about his conversation with Amir Sheikh Mishal. PM wrote- Had a wonderful meeting with the Emir of Kuwait. We discussed issues like pharmaceuticals, IT, fintech, infrastructure and security. We have raised our partnership to a strategic level and I hope that our friendship will become even stronger in the times to come.
Earlier, PM Modi was welcomed at the Emir’s palace Bayan Palace, where he was honoured with a guard of honour. PM Modi arrived in Kuwait on Saturday on a two-day visit.

‘Made in India’ products popular in Kuwait
Talking to Kuwait’s media agency Kuna, PM Modi said-
Made in India products in automobiles, electrical, mechanical machinery and telecommunications are popular in Kuwait. World class goods are being manufactured in India at affordable prices. Trade and commerce have been important pillars of India-Kuwait relations. Our energy partnership strengthens our bilateral trade.
PM Modi met Indian workers on the first day of the tour
PM Modi met Indian workers working in Kuwait on Saturday. During this, he talked to the workers, asked about their well-being and also had breakfast with them. Earlier, the PM had addressed the Indian diaspora in Kuwait.
Addressing the NRIs, Modi said that after 43 years an Indian PM has come to Kuwait. If you have to come from India, it takes 4 hours, but it took 4 decades for the Prime Minister. Modi said that people in Kuwait have the facility to celebrate every festival, but I have come to celebrate for you.
Before PM Modi, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had visited Kuwait in 1981. This is the first visit of an Indian PM to Kuwait after 4 decades. Modi was given a red carpet welcome at the airport.
