Rajasthan Expressway: Rajasthan has achieved a major milestone in the realm of road infrastructure. The state has emerged as a leader in the country in the construction of expressways and high-speed corridors. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari stated in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha that the construction of 1,192 kilometers of high-speed corridors and greenfield expressways has been completed in the state so far—a figure higher than that of any other state in the country.
According to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, a total of 10,389 kilometers of high-speed corridors and greenfield expressways have been approved nationwide. Of this total, construction on 4,809 kilometers has been completed, with Rajasthan alone accounting for 1,192 kilometers of expressways. This means that Rajasthan is home to approximately 25 percent of the high-speed corridors and greenfield expressways completed in the country to date.
The expansion of the expressway network within the state has strengthened road connectivity between various regions. Long-distance travel times have been reduced, and movement between major cities, industrial zones, border areas, and other states has become faster and more seamless. The improved road network is also expected to boost trade, tourism, logistics, and industrial activities.
