Rajasthan News: Buying land in Jaipur is set to become more expensive. Land prices in the city could rise by up to 49%, with the changes coming into effect within seven days. A decision to significantly revise DLC (District Level Committee) rates was made during a meeting of the district administration. The meeting of the District Rate Determination Committee was held at the Collectorate auditorium, chaired by District Collector Sandesh Nayak. It was decided to revise the DLC rates, with proposed hikes ranging from 10% to 49% across the city. Notably, DLC rates had previously been increased by 10% in April. This time, the rates have been raised in areas where market values are high and rapid development is taking place. Conversely, proposals to reduce DLC rates in certain areas have also been put forward.
What is the DLC Rate?
The government determines the market value of any piece of land; this is known as the DLC rate, which is finalized during a meeting chaired by the District Collector. Land registration and land allotment are carried out based on these DLC rates. When land is allotted by the municipal body at the reserve rate, development charges are also included.
According to reports, proposals involving a hike of less than 50% will be implemented within seven days, whereas proposals involving an increase of more than 50% will be forwarded to the state government. Similarly, the state government will make the final decision regarding proposals to reduce rates. The new DLC rates will directly impact property transactions and registrations.
