Rajasthan News: Great news for highway travelers! Facilities for fuel, repairs, and shopping will be available every 40–60 km.

Rajasthan News: Travelers on the country’s national highways and expressways will soon no longer need to search for separate locations to refuel or get vehicle repairs done; instead, wayside amenity centers currently being developed along the highways will serve as multi-purpose hubs catering to travelers’ needs. The network of national highways and expressways across the country is expanding continuously, and there is a growing emphasis on enhancing wayside amenities—facilities provided along the roadside—on these routes. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has taken significant steps in this direction. NHAI’s subsidiary, National Highways Logistics Management Limited, has instructed all regional offices to develop wayside amenity centers wherever necessary. These centers will offer a range of facilities to motorists in a single location.

Over 700 Wayside Amenity Centers to be Developed

Plans are underway to develop more than 700 wayside amenity centers across the country, including in Rajasthan. Of these, 134 centers are already operational, while construction and development work is ongoing at other locations. The objective of these centers is to provide travelers with a safe, convenient, and comfortable journey. They will feature petrol pumps, vehicle repair facilities, eateries, rest areas, restrooms, parking, and other essential services. Having repair facilities available on the highway will alleviate the distress caused by vehicle breakdowns, while also ensuring travelers receive immediate assistance and superior amenities.

Facilities Already Available on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway

Such facilities are already available on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, with the potential for further expansion. Travelers using this expressway have access to dining options, shopping facilities, and petrol pumps. Rest houses have been established at various points where travelers can take a break and relieve fatigue. Additionally, amenities such as clean restrooms, drinking water, parking, and emergency assistance are also provided. Drivers and passengers on long journeys can stop here for a while to rest. In the future, plans could also be made to develop additional facilities at these centers—such as children’s entertainment, the sale of local products, and improved dining options—to make the journey even more convenient and comfortable.
