Ration Shops in Chhattisgarh: The Food Department in Chhattisgarh has simultaneously released the grain allocation for the months of September and October for ration cardholders across the state under the Public Distribution System. The government has dispatched rice and other grains for both months to all fair price shops in the state.
Eligible beneficiaries can collect the rice for both months by September 30, according to their convenience. This arrangement eliminates the need for ration cardholders to visit the ration shop repeatedly. Grain stocking has been completed in 9,356 of the state’s 14,186 fair price shops; this figure represents approximately 66 percent of the total shops in the state.
Distribution of the two months’ grain supply has already commenced at the shops where stocking is complete. The Food Department is rapidly expediting the process of delivering food grains to the remaining fair price shops as well. The department’s objective is to ensure that all eligible ration cardholders receive their food grain allocation within the stipulated timeframe.
Food Grain Distribution and Deadline
Through the Public Distribution System, the state government provides a fixed quantity of grain to lakhs of families every month. Distribution will begin at the shops where grain stocking is pending as soon as the supplies arrive. Ration cardholders can obtain the grain after inquiring about its availability at their respective fair price shops. Beneficiaries are required to collect the rice for both September and October from the shop by September 30, following the prescribed procedure. Receiving a two-month supply of grain at once will provide significant relief to the general public.
