RTE Admission 2026: The admission process under the Right to Education (RTE) Act for private schools in the state has concluded its first two phases. Approximately 9,242 seats remain vacant; consequently, a third round involving seat allotment and a lottery will be conducted. According to data from the Directorate of Public Instruction, there are 23,124 RTE seats across 6,858 private schools in the state. Following the first two phases, admissions have been finalized for about 13,882 of these seats. Selected students were required to complete their admission by July 17.
Applications for the Third Phase Begin on July 22
The Directorate will initiate the third and final phase of the admission process. Eligible applicants can apply online via the RTE portal from July 22 to August 5. Subsequently, after the nodal principals scrutinize and verify the applications, the list will be released through an online lottery and counseling process between August 10 and August 14. Following this, children must complete their admission between August 17 and August 25.
Details on the District with the Highest Number of Seats
Raipur has 3,204 RTE seats across 824 private schools, with admissions completed for 2,458 seats so far. Similarly, admission figures for other districts are as follows: Bilaspur (1,398 admissions out of 2,228 seats across 562 schools), Durg (1,042 out of 1,581 seats across 531 schools), Balrampur (795 out of 1,524 seats across 190 schools), and Mungeli (699 out of 1,011 seats across 226 schools).
