Jaipur: Rainfall continues across Rajasthan today due to the influence of the Southwest Monsoon. In the last 24 hours, the highest rainfall of 9 cm each was recorded in Pachpadra (Balotra district) and Amet (Rajsamand district). The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘Red Alert’ for Banswara and Dungarpur districts, an ‘Orange Alert’ for nine districts, and a ‘Yellow Warning’ for the remaining districts for Friday.
Heavy rainfall has disrupted bus and train services. Train operations were halted due to rising water levels near Bridge No. 203 between Gholvad and Umargam Road stations on the Western Railway network, affecting rail services on the Mumbai route. Railway officials stated that several trains have been cancelled due to this disruption.

According to the Meteorological Department, moderate to heavy rainfall was recorded at several locations in Eastern Rajasthan during the 24-hour period ending Friday morning, while many areas in Western Rajasthan also experienced moderate to heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms. Pachpadra and Amet recorded the highest rainfall at 9 cm each, while Salumbar, Jhadol (Udaipur), and Badesar (Chittorgarh) recorded 7 cm each. Many other places received less than 7 cm of rainfall.
Rivers in Spate
Heavy rains disrupted normal life in several districts, causing waterlogging in fields across Hanumangarh, Sri Ganganagar, Beawar, Bhilwara, and Udaipur. The Som and Mahi rivers in Dungarpur are in spate, while road connectivity to numerous villages and small towns has been disrupted due to waterlogging, the overflowing of seasonal rivers, and damage to culverts.
The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall for Banswara and Dungarpur and issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for the districts of Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, Salumbar, Sirohi, Udaipur, Balotra, and Barmer, while a ‘Yellow Alert’ remains in effect for several other parts of the state. On Thursday, the state’s highest temperature was recorded at 38.4°C in Phalodi, while the lowest was 23.4°C in Dabok (Udaipur). Notably, heavy rainfall is also occurring in Gujarat, which borders Rajasthan; the rain has impacted train services in Gujarat as well.
