Bilaspur: Here is important news for train passengers. Traveling without a valid ticket could now prove costly. The Bilaspur Railway Division has intensified its drive against passengers traveling without tickets or with irregular tickets. Ticket checks are being conducted continuously on trains as well as at railway stations.
During these checks, if passengers are found traveling without a ticket, in the wrong class, or with other ticket-related irregularities, they are being charged the fare difference plus an additional penalty in accordance with railway rules.
Changes in Provisions under the Jan Vishwas Act
According to the Railways, certain provisions regarding penalties under the Jan Vishwas Act have undergone minor modifications. In some instances, the penalty amount has been revised upwards. Awareness campaigns are also being conducted at railway stations and through other channels to inform passengers about these new provisions.
Anurag Kumar Singh, Senior DCM of the Bilaspur Railway Division, stated that ticket checking is a routine and vital railway procedure. Passengers are being advised to always carry a valid ticket and travel only in the class specified on it. Any violation of rules detected during checks will result in the levy of charges as per established railway regulations.

The Railways has urged passengers to ensure they have a valid ticket before boarding the train. Passengers should travel only in the class for which the ticket was purchased. Adhering to the rules can help avoid the inconvenience and extra payments associated with ticket inspections.
