UP News: A double-decker bus and a tanker collided in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday morning at 5.15 am. 18 passengers travelling in the bus died in the accident. 19 are injured. Among the dead are 14 men, 2 women and 2 children. The bus was going from Siwan in Bihar to Delhi.
The accident took place near Bangarmau Kotwali on Lucknow-Agra Expressway. The collision was so severe that the driver’s side body of the bus was completely separated. The passengers fell out. They died on the spot. Videos of the accident have surfaced. In these, it can be seen that dead bodies are scattered on the road.

Police said that the bus was overtaking a milk tanker. During this, it lost control and hit the tanker and overturned. There were 59 passengers in the bus. 22 are safe. Out of the 18 dead, 16 have not been identified yet. 15 injured are being treated at Bangarmau CHC. 4 seriously injured have been referred to Lucknow Trauma Center.
All the injured are admitted in the hospital
It is said that this road accident happened in front of Garha village of Behta Mujawar police station area on Lucknow-Agra Expressway. After the incident, all the injured have been admitted to the local hospital. Treatment of all the injured is going on and till the time of writing the news, there is no update on their condition.
Superintendent of Police Unnao, Area Magistrate Bangarmau and police from other police stations are present at the spot. The number of the bus is UP95 T 4720 and the number of the container filled with milk is UP70 CT 3999. 14 people have been identified among the dead.
Among the dead are Dilshad from Meerut, Bittu from Shivhar, Rajnish from Siwan, Lalbabu Das from Shivhar, Rampravesh Kumar, Bharat Bhushan Kumar, Babu Das, Mohd. Saddam, Nagma, Shabana, Chandni, Mohd. Shafiq, Munni Khatoon and Taufiq Alam from Delhi. The 4 passengers who died have not been identified.
The youth injured in the accident said – dead bodies were scattered on the road
Shivam, injured in the bus accident, said – everyone was sleeping in the bus at the time of the accident. The speed of the bus was very high. We told the driver several times to drive the bus slow, but he did not listen. Then suddenly a very loud noise came. I was startled. When I looked, the windows of the bus were broken. People were lying outside on the road. We were sitting at the back, so we were saved. The bus overturned on the road. The accident was so horrific that only dead bodies were visible on the road.
My hand got hurt, it felt like an earthquake..
Mohammad Urs, a passenger in the bus, said- I am from Shivhar in Bihar. I was sleeping at the time of the accident, then there was a loud sound. It felt like an earthquake. I was sitting on the other side of the bus. I narrowly escaped. My hand got hurt.
Another injured Pradeep said that we were sleeping. We could not understand anything. When we woke up, everyone was lying on the road.
Eyewitness said – 10 people were lying dead on the road
Eyewitness Naresh Kumar said- I was going towards the fields when I heard a loud noise. When I looked, a bus and a tanker had collided. People were shouting save me. My soul trembled after seeing the accident. 10 people were lying dead on the road. In a short time 50-60 people reached there. Couldn’t understand what to do. Dead bodies were scattered on the road, some people were writhing in pain. When the police came, they were sent to the hospital.
The administration issued helpline numbers
Unnao DM Gaurang Rathi said that helpline numbers have been issued. The injured are admitted in Bangarmau CHC. The seriously injured are being referred to Lucknow Trauma Center. SP Siddharth Shankar Meena said that the bus is being investigated. The cause of the accident is being said to be overspeed. There was a jam on the expressway after the accident. Both the vehicles were removed with the help of a crane.

CM Yogi expressed grief
CM Yogi has expressed grief over the incident. Said- The accident is heart-wrenching. CM has instructed the officers to speed up the relief work. Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak said- We are in touch with the Bihar government. The reasons for the incident will be known after investigation.
