5 Key Takeaways from Kejriwal’s Speech
1- Read Bhagat Singh’s jail diary. After Bhagat Singh, a revolutionary chief minister went to jail after independence. I wrote only one letter to LG. On 15th August, the Chief Minister of Delhi Government hoists the flag. 3 days before this, I wrote a letter to LG requesting Atishi to be allowed to hoist the flag in my place.
2- Even the British would not have thought that after independence, a more cruel and tyrannical ruler than the British would come. Bhagat Singh and Batukeshwar had thrown a bomb in the assembly. Both were kept in adjacent cells in the same jail. 95 years later, Manish and Kejriwal go to jail in the same case, both were kept in separate jails, they were not allowed to meet each other. Gandhi, Nehru, Patel went to jail, they were allowed to meet everyone.
3- Their aim is to break the spirit of Aam Aadmi Party and Kejriwal. Their formula is to break the MLAs, put them in jail, send them to ED, break the party, topple governments and form their own government. They felt that if Kejriwal is sent to jail, his party will break. Forget about our MLAs, even our workers did not break.
4- They have another formula. Wherever they lose, file a fake case against the CM and arrest him and form the government. There are cases against Siddaramaiah, Mamata and Pinarayi Vijayan. When I went to jail, the Supreme Court asked why the government cannot be run from within the jail.
5- I was a commissioner in income tax. I left the job in 2000 and served Delhi till 2010. I have lived in slums. If I had to earn money, my job would not have been bad. At that time, I did not have a party, I did not want to become the chief minister, I only had a passion for the country. After 49 days of government, I resigned for principles. No one asked for it. No one leaves the job of a peon, I left the post of CM. I do not have any greed for the post.
Kejriwal’s government in Delhi since 2013, he became CM 3 times in a row
The tenure of Kejriwal government is going to end in February 2025. Aam Aadmi Party under the leadership of Kejriwal is in power in Delhi since 2013. Assembly elections were held on 4 December 2013 in Delhi for a total of 70 seats. The results came on 8 December 2013. In this, BJP emerged as the largest party with 32 seats. However, it did not get the majority.
AAP got 28 seats and Congress got 8 seats. With the support of Congress, Arvind Kejriwal became the Chief Minister and formed the government. However, after 49 days the alliance of both the parties broke. On February 7, 2015, assembly elections were held again in Delhi. In this, AAP won 67 seats. BJP was reduced to just three seats. Five years later, in the assembly elections of February 8, 2020, AAP has won 62 seats out of a total of 70 seats. 8 seats went to the account of BJP.
