C Voter Survey Shocker: Nehru and Indira Gandhi Slip in Popularity—Who’s India’s No.1 PM?

The latest C Voter survey reveals that neither Pandit Nehru nor Indira Gandhi tops the list of India's most popular Prime Ministers. The MOTN survey's unexpected results challenge long-held perceptions, highlighting a new favorite who has captured public imagination.

C Voter Survey: After the results of this Lok Sabha election, Narendra Modi has become the Prime Minister of the country for the third consecutive time. With this, he is the second leader after India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, who became the PM of the country for the third consecutive time. After the results of this Lok Sabha election, the opposition party is constantly alleging that the people of the country rejected PM Modi. Meanwhile, C-Voter conducted a survey for India Today Group, in which they asked people who is their first choice among the Prime Ministers of the country so far?

Who is the first choice among PMs till now? 

In response to this question, the people of the country gave surprising answers. According to the C-Voter survey, 52 percent people have accepted that Narendra Modi is their first choice among the PMs till now. At the same time, 12 percent people named former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee and 12 percent people named Manmohan Singh as their first choice. Indira Gandhi is at number three in this list. 10 percent people named her as their first choice as PM. 5 percent people named the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru as their first choice among the current PMs.

Modi’s performance as PM

After this, questions were asked in the survey about Narendra Modi’s performance as PM, in which most people said that PM Modi’s performance is very good. According to the survey, 34 percent people have accepted that Narendra Modi ‘s performance as PM is very good. Whereas 15 percent people have described the PM’s performance as average and 10 percent people have described the PM’s performance as bad. In the survey, 13 percent people said that PM Modi’s performance has been very bad.

The biggest issue 

In this Lok Sabha election, the leader of India Alliance was attacking BJP on the issue of unemployment and changing the constitution, the effect of which was also seen. In the C-Voter survey, people were also asked questions about the biggest issue of the country, in response to which 28 percent people believed that unemployment is the biggest issue in the country right now. 19 percent people believe that inflation is the biggest issue while 6 percent people believe that poverty is the biggest issue. According to the survey, 6 percent people consider agriculture crisis and 5 percent people consider electricity, water and roads as the biggest issue.
