Delhi Elections: Congress Releases Manifesto, Promises Lokpal Implementation and Cash Transfer Scheme for Women

Congress Manifesto: For the Delhi elections, Congress has promised to give 300 units of free electricity to all eligible families. Congress said that it will give Rs 2500 every month to one woman from every poor family.

Congress Manifesto For Delhi Election 2025: Congress released its manifesto for the Delhi Assembly elections on Wednesday. Many promises have been made in it to woo women and youth. The party has also promised to bring Lokpal. Congress said that within six months of forming the government, we will pass a stronger Lokpal Bill. We will not let LG make any excuse to delay its passage, which is favorable to both AAP and BJP. 

Inflation relief scheme

Under this, Congress has promised to provide LPG cylinders for Rs 500. The party also said that every month it will provide a free ration kit containing 5 kg rice, 2 kg sugar, 1 kg cooking oil, 6 kg pulses, 250 grams of tea leaves.

Pyari Didi Yojana

Congress said that we will give Rs 2,500 every month to one woman from every poor family. We have implemented this scheme in Karnataka, we will do it in Delhi too.

Jeevan Raksha Yojana

Regarding this, Congress said that we will provide free treatment up to Rs 25 lakh to all the residents of Delhi. This will also include free medicines and tests. We had implemented this scheme in Rajasthan, we will do it in Delhi too.

Yuva Udaan Yojana

The party said that we will provide one year apprenticeship to all unemployed youth in public or private sector, during which they will get Rs 8,500 per month. We have implemented this scheme in Karnataka, we will do it in Delhi too.

Free Electricity Scheme

Congress has promised to provide 300 units of free electricity to all eligible families.

Congress is also reminding of Sheila Dikshit’s tenure during the election campaign. Regarding this, the party said in the manifesto, “We will restart the award winning initiatives started by Sheila Dikshit like Bhaagidari Yojana, School Welfare Committees, Rogi Kalyan Samitis and My Delhi Eye Care Fund, which connected the citizens with the Delhi government.”

Scheduled Caste

Regarding the Scheduled Castes, the Congress has said in its manifesto that we will give 15% of government contracts to the Scheduled Castes to empower them economically. We will increase the amount of scholarship for Scheduled Caste students and streamline the process so that the out-of-pocket expenses can be fully reimbursed.

The party said that we will ensure that the temple of Sant Ravi Das is built in Tughlakabad and completed on priority basis. We will ensure that any benefits given to religious priests are given without discrimination and this includes Buddhist monks and priests of Sant Ravidas and Lord Valmiki. We will organize a free Char Dham Yatra for the Dalit community and take them to Sarnath and Bodh Gaya, the places of Gautam Buddha, the place of Sant Ravidas and Mhow, the birthplace of Babasaheb Ambedkar.

Other Backward Classes (OBC)

Regarding Other Backward Classes (OBC), the Congress said that in the first cabinet meeting, we will conduct a caste-based survey in Delhi to count the various deprived classes in Delhi. We will ensure that OBCs get representation in various government institutions in proportion to their population. We will increase the income limit for determining the creamy layer to Rs 12 lakh per annum and ensure that the creamy layer certificate remains valid for a reasonable period.

Big announcement regarding minorities

He said that we will strengthen the Delhi SC/ST/OBC/Minority and Disabled Financial and Development Corporation so that these communities can get loans at the lowest rate to start a business. We will fill the vacancies of Urdu, Punjabi and Bhojpuri teachers on priority basis. The Congress government will remove the obstacles in the development of madrasas in Delhi in a phased manner. By forming a Waqf Board, we will ensure timely settlement of the allowances given to Imam and Muazzin.

Congress said that we will revive the Punjabi Academy and give it the same importance as before. We will finance the establishment of Punjabi Chair in Jawaharlal Nehru University. We will establish a university in the name of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur, which will also have a museum and a digital library. We will establish a Jain Welfare Board, as we have done in Rajasthan.

Purvanchal

Congress has made a big announcement for the people of Purvanchal living in Delhi. He said that Chhath Mahaparva will be celebrated like Maha Kumbh. A place will be determined on the banks of Yamuna for Chhath Mahaparva, it will be declared a district and the ghat will be named after late Smt. Sharda Sinha. We will give permanent holiday on the day of Chhath Puja and ensure that liquor shops remain closed on that day. We will build Purvanchal Bhawan to facilitate access to ration cards, legal aid and other essential government services. We will build free libraries for the children of the people of Purvanchal. We will promote the study of languages ​​like Bhojpuri, Maithili and Magahi. We will establish a ministry to ensure the welfare of Purvanchalis.
