Elections 2024 BJP Candidates Fifth List:  Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its fifth list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on Sunday (March 24) night. This list of BJP includes the names of 111 candidates for different states. In this list, tickets of old candidates have also been cut on many Lok Sabha seats.
BJP has so far announced the names of its candidates for 309 Lok Sabha seats. The names of candidates for many more seats are yet to be announced. In Uttar Pradesh, which has the highest number of Lok Sabha seats, the party can announce the names of 12 more candidates. However, the most discussed topic right now is BJP’s fifth list. Let us understand the five major points of BJP’s fifth list in 5 points.
Table of Contents
1. Those who deviate from the party line are not acceptable
The biggest thing in BJP’s fifth list was the ticket of current MP from Pilibhit, Varun Gandhi being cut. However, speculations were already being made that Varun Gandhi’s ticket could be cut this time. Actually, the way he has spoken against the government and its policies in the last few years, it seemed that the party could turn away from him this time. By not giving him the ticket, the party has given a strong message that there will be no compromise on discipline in the party. There is no place for those who speak against the party and those who go against the party line.
2. Polarization of votes through celebrities
Keeping in mind the slogan of crossing 400 of the NDA alliance, BJP is also taking full care of polarization of votes while announcing the names of the candidates. This is also reflected in its fifth list. BJP has tried its best to polarize votes by fielding Arun Govil from Meerut. Actually, Arun Govil played the character of Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s Samayan. Because of this character, he is still known in every household and there are many people who consider him like Lord Ram. In this way, by fielding him from here, BJP has tried its best to polarize Hindu votes not only on Meerut seat but also on the surrounding seats. Similarly, if we talk about Mandi seat of Himachal Pradesh, the party has fielded famous actress Kangana Ranaut from here. While Kangana is very popular because of Bollywood, she also has the image of a staunch Hindu. By fielding her, the party has targeted this seat as well as the surrounding seats.
3. Sacrifice of big names to prevent dissent
In the fifth list of BJP, it has also become clear that the party does not shy away from sacrificing big names to prevent internal strife and discontent. In this list, the party has cleared this by cutting the tickets of the current MPs of some seats. First of all, if we talk about Ghaziabad seat, then from here the party has given ticket to MLA Atul Garg instead of two-time MP and former Army Chief VK Singh, who was a Union Minister in the Modi government. Fielding a new candidate on this seat, which is considered a stronghold of BJP, is an indication of this. If political experts are to be believed, the local MLAs in Ghaziabad were constantly opening a front against VK Singh. In this way, discontent was growing in the party. To stop this, a new face was fielded in place of VK Singh.
4. Challenging opponents through empathy
Political experts say that how to defeat opponents by garnering sympathy on a burning issue can be learnt from BJP. BJP has also taken care of this in its fifth list. BJP has tried to cash in on the Sandeshkhali issue of West Bengal which has been dominating the media for the last two months. The party has fielded a woman who is a victim of Sandeshkhali from Basirhat Lok Sabha seat of West Bengal. Sandeshkhali area falls in this Lok Sabha constituency. In this way, by giving ticket to a victim, the party has tried to woo the voters of entire Sandeshkhali.
5. Respect for those coming from other parties
Along with focusing on its victory in the fifth list, BJP has also focused on harming its opponents. There are many names in this list who have left Congress or other parties and have come here. Varun Gandhi’s ticket from Pilibhit in UP has been cut and Jitin Prasad, who has come from Congress, has been given a chance. Sita Soren, Hemant Soren’s sister-in-law, has been given a ticket from Dumka seat in Jharkhand. Sita had left Jharkhand Mukti Morcha some time ago and joined BJP. Apart from this, the party has fielded Naveen Jindal from Kurukshetra seat in Haryana. Naveen Jindal had left Congress and joined BJP just a few hours before the fifth list was released.
