Lok Sabha Elections 2024: While addressing a public meeting in Barrackpore, West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi fiercely targeted the Trinamool Congress (TMC). PM Modi accused the TMC of turning Hindus into “second-class citizens” in the state during its rule.

According to a report by news agency ANI, while addressing a rally in Barrackpore, PM Modi said that the enthusiastic faces of the people tell him that the BJP is going to get a bigger mandate than 2019. He said that Bengal is saying, “Once again, Modi government!” During this, he said that TMC has made bomb making a cottage industry in Bengal. Today it has become difficult for the common man to follow his faith in Bengal.

PM Modi said that when people in Bengal take the name of Shri Ram, TMC threatens them. TMC does not allow people to say Jai Shri Ram. On the other hand, to celebrate Ram Navami, Congress is also standing against the Ram temple . PM Modi further said that should we leave the country in the hands of TMC, Congress and leftists?

While addressing the public meeting, PM Modi said that a TMC leader says that they will throw Hindus into the Bhagirathi river. Where does he get the courage to say and do all this? Who is supporting him? PM Modi said that the TMC regime does not allow people to take Lord Ram’s name and celebrate Ram Navami. PM Modi further said that Hindus have become second-class citizens in Bengal under the TMC rule.

In fact, earlier TMC MLA Humayun Kabir had made a controversial remark during an election rally in Murshidabad, saying that Hindus will be drowned in the Bhagirathi river within two hours, otherwise he will leave politics. Kabir, MLA from Bharatpur assembly constituency, had said this while addressing a public meeting.
Eastern India got only poverty and migration under Congress rule
Addressing the rally, PM Modi stressed that the Congress party, which ruled the country for decades, neglected the development of the states of eastern India. He said, “After independence, the family members of the Congress party ruled the country for decades. They neglected the development of the states of eastern India, be it West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand or Odisha or Andhra Pradesh. The Congress and the parties of the Indi Alliance left eastern India backward. Congress did nothing to harness the potential of these states.”

He further said that Modi will make eastern India the growth engine of developed India. PM said that today, we are building a network of roads, railways and waterways in the eastern states of India. PM said that the coming years will be dedicated to furthering the development of West Bengal and surrounding areas.
