Block level officer in Imphal told news agency ANI about this – Suddenly two people came and started asking about the polling agents of Congress-BJP. They took away the Congress agent and during this time the agent had his hands up. Later those unknown people opened fire while sitting inside the car, in which one person got injured.

Voting for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 is currently underway. Meanwhile, there is news of stone pelting in Cooch Behar, West Bengal. ABP News correspondent quoted sources as saying that a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker has also been injured in this stone pelting.

An IED exploded during election duty near Chihka village in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh. During this, an assistant commandant of CRPF was injured. The injured commandant has been brought to Bhairamgarh hospital for treatment. Police have confirmed the blast. 

West Bengal: Some TMC goons are active- Nisith Pramanik

Union Minister Nisith Pramanik said that the Election Commission has controlled the violence in West Bengal to a large extent. But some TMC goons are active. The fear of TMC losing is visible in Mamata Banerjee’s eyes. People are ready to take revenge from TMC goons. Nitish Pramanik said, TMC goons damaged the car, people will answer this with their votes. He said, at many places the police is misguiding the central forces. The police should help people reach the polling booths.

EC receives 150 complaints in Bengal

The Election Commission has received 151 election-related complaints from Bengal till 10 am. Voting is being held in 3 seats of West Bengal in the first phase. There have also been reports of violence in Cooch Behar. There was stone pelting between TMC and BJP workers here. A BJP worker has also been injured in this. Many videos of Cooch Behar violence have also surfaced.

Through the Voter Helpline app, you can also get details about which voter has to go to which polling station to cast his vote and which is his booth. ECI is using many such apps.

This time there are about 97 crore (96.8 crore) registered voters and 10.5 lakh polling stations have been set up in the country. There are 1.5 crore polling officers and security personnel for the elections, while there is a provision of 55 lakh EVMs and four lakh vehicles. During the announcement of the election dates, the Election Commission had made it clear that there is no place for violence in democracy and violence will not be tolerated at all in the elections.

Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Schedule

This time the general election is being held in seven phases. Further, voting will be held on 89 Lok Sabha seats in the second phase on April 26, 94 in the third phase on May 7, 96 in the fourth phase on May 13, 49 in the fifth phase on May 20, 57 in the sixth phase on May 25 and 57 in the seventh phase on June 1. The results will be announced on June 4, 2024.

When were the votes cast in the year 2019?

Talking about the Lok Sabha elections held in the year 2019, voting was held in seven phases at that time too. However, voting was held for 91 Lok Sabha seats in the first phase on 11 April. Voting was held for 95 Lok Sabha seats in the second phase on 18 April, 117 in the third phase on 23 April, 71 in the fourth phase on 29 April, 50 in the fifth phase on 6 May, 59 in the sixth phase on 12 May and 59 Lok Sabha seats in the seventh phase on 19 May. The results came on 23 May 2019.
