20 September: The king should be such that he can tolerate criticism

Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said that a king (ruler) should be such that if someone speaks against him, he should tolerate it. He should introspect on the criticism. This is the biggest test of democracy.

Gadkari said these things at a book release program at MIT World Peace University in Pune on Friday. Gadkari said that litterateurs, intellectuals and poets should express their views openly and strongly.

What is happening in politics these days has happened in other places (foreign countries) as well. Parties have even ceased to exist there.
