Alvida Jumma 2024: How important is ‘Alvida Juma’ for Muslims, how is it different from other Fridays of Ramadan?

Alvida Jumma 2024: There is a lot of enthusiasm about Alvida Juma in the Muslim community. According to Islamic beliefs, the legitimate prayers that people make with a true heart in the farewell prayer are accepted.

Alvida Jumma 2024: The month of Ramadan is considered very sacred for Muslims. The last Friday of this special month is called Alvida Jumma.

This time, Alvida Juma will be celebrated across the country on 5 April 2024. Although every Friday in Ramadan has its own importance, but Alvida Juma has a different significance for the Muslim community. Alvida Juma is also called ‘Jamaat-ul-Vida’ in Arabic.

During the month of Ramadan, Muslims observe fast for 29 or 30 days, which means the fasting period is for about four weeks.

The last Friday of these four weeks is called Alvida Juma.

Alvida Juma falls in the third Ashra (last 10 days) of the month of Ramadan. According to the Hadith, which is considered the basis for the interpretation of Islamic teachings, the month of Ramadan is a holy month in which one gets 70 times more Sawab (virtue) in return for every good deed and prayer.

What is the tradition of Alvida Juma in India?

In India, a different enthusiasm is seen regarding the prayer of Alvida Juma and special preparations are also done in mosques.

The fasting people wear new and good clothes and apply perfume (perfume) and go out of their houses for namaz and pray in mosques. Be it children or old people, everyone celebrates this day in a special way.

Apart from religion, a different traditional and cultural trend is seen in India and South Asia regarding Alvida Juma.

People are very excited on this day and they perform this namaz with full enthusiasm. Children are very excited about this.

According to Islamic beliefs, the legitimate prayers that people offer with a true heart in the farewell prayer are accepted and the prayer offered with a pure heart brings Allah’s mercy and blessings.

Along with this, old sins are also forgiven. During this time, along with the Farz (necessary) prayers, many Nafil (extra) prayers are also offered so that maximum reward can be earned. Along with this, Quran is recited and poor and needy people are also helped.

Is there any mention of Alvida Juma in Hadith and Quran?

There is mention of prayers on Alvida Juma in Hadith, but wearing new clothes, making special preparations for Friday prayers, is not proved in Hadith.

However, in Arabia, unlike India, no special preparations are made for Alvida Juma. There is no separate mention of Alvida Juma in the Quran and Hadith, although the importance of Friday has been explained very well.

If you understand, then it is better for you. Then when the prayer is completed, spread out on the ground and keep remembering Allah a lot so that you may be successful.

It is mentioned in the Hadith that it was on Friday that Hazrat Adam Alaihissalam (the first human sent to the world according to Islam) was sent from heaven to this world.

It is said that Hazrat Adam’s return to heaven happened on this day and his repentance was also accepted on this day.

Apart from this, it has also been said about Friday that when Friday comes, angels stand at the door of every mosque and also write the name of every person who comes for Friday prayers.

What do Islamic scholars say about Alvida Juma?

Qari Ishaq Gora of Darul Uloom, Deoband says that the month of Ramadan is very holy and Friday has its own importance.

Unlike other Fridays of Ramadan, people are very excited for Alvida Juma. This is the reason why people step out of their homes for namaz wearing new clothes and applying perfume.

Although there is no mention in the Hadith that you should make any special preparations on this day, Qari Gora also said that only two festivals hold the most importance in Islam and they are Eid and Bakrid.

According to Mufti Ahmad Arshad Khan of Dar-e-Arqam Education Center, the Sawab (virtue) increases seventy times in the month of Ramadan. Regarding Alvida Juma, Mufti Arshad Khan said that there is no special virtue for the last Friday in Islam.

Just like the other Fridays of Ramadan, this Friday is also celebrated in the same way. The way special preparations are made on the day of Alvida Juma in India, this does not happen in Arabia. The reason behind this is that the people of Arabia do everything according to the Hadith and the Holy Quran. There is no mention of this in the entire collection of Hadiths, this is the reason why they do not do this on Alvida Juma.
