What do Islamic scholars say about Alvida Juma?
Qari Ishaq Gora of Darul Uloom, Deoband says that the month of Ramadan is very holy and Friday has its own importance.
Unlike other Fridays of Ramadan, people are very excited for Alvida Juma. This is the reason why people step out of their homes for namaz wearing new clothes and applying perfume.
Although there is no mention in the Hadith that you should make any special preparations on this day, Qari Gora also said that only two festivals hold the most importance in Islam and they are Eid and Bakrid.
According to Mufti Ahmad Arshad Khan of Dar-e-Arqam Education Center, the Sawab (virtue) increases seventy times in the month of Ramadan. Regarding Alvida Juma, Mufti Arshad Khan said that there is no special virtue for the last Friday in Islam.
Just like the other Fridays of Ramadan, this Friday is also celebrated in the same way. The way special preparations are made on the day of Alvida Juma in India, this does not happen in Arabia. The reason behind this is that the people of Arabia do everything according to the Hadith and the Holy Quran. There is no mention of this in the entire collection of Hadiths, this is the reason why they do not do this on Alvida Juma.
