CSK vs KKR IPL 2024: Chennai Super Kings defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 wickets in a low-scoring match. Kolkata Knight Riders scored 137 runs while playing first, on the other hand, CSK batsmen, who came out to chase the target, kept wickets in hand on one hand and on the other hand kept the scoreboard moving. Chennai won this match with 14 balls to spare and captain Rituraj Gaikwad’s unbeaten half-century of 67 runs played an important role in this victory. KKR had registered 3 consecutive wins in IPL 2024, but in the current season, CSK has become the first team to defeat them. At the same time, Chennai has regained the winning rhythm after suffering 2 consecutive defeats.

Rachin Ravindra contributed 15 runs and Daryl Mitchell contributed 25 runs in CSK’s victory. CSK had scored 81 runs at the loss of 1 wicket in the first 10 overs, which made it quite easy for them to win because the team needed 57 runs in the last 10 overs and had 9 wickets in hand. Although Mitchell was out in the 13th over, but after that Shivam Dubey, who came to bat as an impact player, batted in a stormy style like every time and made the match one-sided. Shivam Dubey hit 1 four and 3 sixes in his 18-ball 28-run innings. Talking about KKR’s bowling, Mitchell Starc was once again thrashed. Apart from Sunil Narine and Vaibhav Arora, no bowler from KKR was able to take wickets.

Rituraj Gaikwad’s captaincy innings

After getting the captaincy of Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024, Rituraj Gaikwad was struggling a lot in batting. Although he played an innings of 46 runs against Gujarat Titans, he could not show anything special with the bat in the remaining 3 innings. Now in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders, he has shown signs of returning to his form by taking responsibility on the slow pitch and playing an innings of 67 runs in 58 balls. He hit 9 fours in this innings. Apart from him, Ravindra Jadeja and Tushar Deshpande also shone in the victory of Chennai Super Kings. Both of them took 3-3 wickets in bowling.
