GT vs DC IPL 2024: DC Dominates GT, Delhi Thrashes Gujarat with a Quick Victory in Just 8.5 Overs

IPL 2024, GT vs DC: This is the biggest win of Delhi Capitals in terms of balls remaining in the history of IPL. Delhi defeated Gujarat with 67 balls to spare.

GT vs DC IPL 2024: Delhi Capitals team is back on the winning track. Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals team defeated Gujarat Titans by 6 wickets in the 32nd match of IPL to register their third win in IPL 2024. After bundling out Gujarat Titans for 89 runs, Delhi won by 6 wickets with 67 balls to spare. Jake Fraser McGurk scored the highest 20 runs for Delhi. In this match played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat Titans had to face their fourth defeat in this IPL.

Delhi Capitals had a good start chasing the target of 90 runs set by Gujarat Titans. Prithvi Shaw and Jake Fraser McGurk added 25 runs. McGurk was dismissed after scoring 20 runs off 10 balls while Prithvi Shaw contributed 7 runs off 6 balls. Abhishek Porel, who came in as an impact player, played an innings of 15 runs off 7 balls.

Shai Hope was dismissed after scoring 19 runs. Captain Rishabh Pant returned unbeaten after scoring 16 runs while Sumit Kumar remained unbeaten after scoring 9 runs. Sandeep Warrior took 2 wickets for Gujarat Titans while Spencer Johnson and Rashid Khan took one wicket each.

Earlier, Delhi captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and decided to bowl first. Gujarat Titans team’s batting collapsed like a pack of cards. Only 3 batsmen could touch the double digit mark. Rashid Khan scored 31 runs while Sai Sudarshan was dismissed after scoring 12 runs while Rahul Tewatia contributed 10 runs.

Opener Wriddhiman Saha returned to the pavilion after scoring 2 runs. Captain Shubman Gill was dismissed for 8 runs. David Miller contributed 2 runs. Mukesh Kumar took the maximum 3 wickets for Delhi while Ishant Sharma and Tristan Stubbs took two wickets each. This is Delhi Capitals’ third win in 7 matches while this is Gujarat Titans’ fourth defeat in seven matches.
