India gave 9 wickets to spinners. This was the third consecutive time in this series when 9 Indian batsmen gave wickets to spinners.
Avishka played an innings of 96 runs
Before this, Sri Lanka scored 248 runs on the basis of excellent innings of Avishka Fernando, Kusal Mendis and Pathum Nissanka. Avishka scored 96 runs in 102 balls. Kusal Mendis played an innings of 59 runs in 82 balls. Nissanka scored 45 runs. Kamindu Mendis played an innings of 23 runs in 19 balls. Riyan Parag, who was playing his debut match for India, took the maximum of 3 wickets. And no other Indian could take more than one wicket.
Team India’s batting flopped badly
Most of the Indian batsmen have proved to be flops in this series against Sri Lanka. Rohit Sharma tried to give a good start to the team. He scored 35 runs in 20 balls. During this, he hit 6 fours and 1 six. Shubman Gill was out after scoring 6 runs.
Virat Kohli returned to the pavilion after scoring 20 runs. He hit 4 fours while facing 18 balls. Rishabh Pant was out after scoring just 6 runs. Shreyas Iyer returned to the pavilion after scoring 8 runs. Akshar Patel was out after scoring 2 runs and Riyan Parag was out after scoring 15 runs.
Fernando’s strong performance for Sri Lanka
Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 248 runs with the loss of 7 wickets in 50 overs. During this, Avishka Fernando batted brilliantly. He scored 96 runs facing 102 balls. Fernando hit 9 fours and 2 sixes. Pathum Nissanka played an innings of 45 runs. He hit 5 fours and 2 sixes. Kusal Mendis played an innings of 59 runs. He hit 4 fours. In the end, Kamindu Mendis scored an unbeaten 23 runs. Samarawickrama was out on zero.
Riyan Parag took 3 wickets for India –
Ryan took the most wickets for India. He gave 54 runs in 9 overs and took 3 wickets. Kuldeep Yadav took 1 wicket giving 36 runs in 10 overs. Washington Sundar and Mohammad Siraj also got 1 wicket each. Akshar Patel also got a success.
