What is NTES?
The National Train Enquiry System (NTES), developed by the Railways, provides real-time train information, including running status, scheduled arrival times at stations, and platform details. Users can download the official NTES app for both Android and iOS devices to check live train status; the service is also available via a website.
Using the NTES Mobile App
First, if you do not have the NTES app on your phone, install it from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, depending on your device.
Next, open the NTES app and tap on “Spot Your Train.”
Enter the train number or name and tap on “Show Instance.”
The train’s details will appear on the screen; tap on them to view the route map.
Using the NTES Website
You can check live train status and ask train-related questions via the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) portal.
Visit the official NTES portal website.
Select “Spot Your Train” from the list of options in the left-hand panel.
Enter the train name or number in the designated space and select the appropriate option from the dropdown list. Now, you need to select your journey start date.
Then, the live status of the train will appear below, along with a route map.
