IMD Issues Severe Rain Warnings for Multiple States: Check Your State’s Weather Forecast Now and Stay Prepared for the Downpour!

Weather Forecast: Monsoon has blessed many parts of the country and it is raining heavily in many places. The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains for these states today.

Weather Forecast: Monsoon (Monsoon 2024) is very active in the country and it is raining heavily in different parts of the country. Not a single day is going by when the Meteorological Department is not issuing an alert of heavy rain for some states. It is raining heavily in many states from east to west and north to south of the country. Due to this, the India Meteorological Department has issued an alert for many places. Due to the rain in Madhya Pradesh, the gates of 11 dams have to be opened. 

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of very heavy rain in different areas of Saurashtra and Kutch today. Along with this, there may be very heavy rain in Konkan and Goa on August 1, East Madhya Pradesh during July 31 and August 2, Madhya Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh on August 1 and 2 and different areas of West Madhya Pradesh on August 2.

Along with this, heavy rain is forecast at different places in Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh during July 30 to August 2. At the same time, there is a possibility of heavy rain in East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh from today to August 2, and in Vidarbha on August 1 and 2.

Along with this, very heavy rains may occur in different areas of Uttarakhand from today to August 2, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on July 31 and August 1, Haryana-Chandigarh, West Uttar Pradesh and Western Rajasthan on July 31.

On the other hand, heavy rains may occur in different areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand from July 30 to August 2. On the other hand, heavy rains are likely in Punjab from July 30 to August 1, Haryana-Chandigarh from July 30 to August 2, Uttar Pradesh from July 30 to August 1 and in different places of eastern Rajasthan on July 30 and July 31.  

At the same time, very heavy rains have been predicted in coastal and south interior Karnataka today. 

Also, the Meteorological Department has predicted very heavy rainfall in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during July 30 to August 1, in Arunachal Pradesh on August 1 and 2, and in Odisha on July 31 and August 1. 

‘Orange’ alert in Himachal Pradesh 

The weather department on Monday issued an ‘orange’ alert for heavy to very heavy rain, thunder and lightning in seven districts of Himachal Pradesh during the next two days.

The emergency operations centre said 45 roads, including 29 in Mandi, eight in Kullu, four in Shimla and two each in Kangra and Kinnaur districts, are closed for traffic and 215 transformers are down across the state. The weather department has also issued a ‘yellow alert’ for heavy rain in some places of the state today and on August 2. 

Heavy rain in Madhya Pradesh, some gates of 11 dams opened

Intermittent heavy rains are continuing in many parts of Madhya Pradesh, due to which some gates of 11 dams had to be partially opened. Prakash Dhawale, meteorologist of IMD’s Bhopal center, has predicted heavy rains in seven districts – Barwani, Betul, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Raisen, Ratlam and Ujjain by 8:30 am on Tuesday. Meanwhile, an engineer of Madhya Pradesh Water Resources Department said, “Amid heavy rains, some gates of 11 dams including Bargi have been opened.”

Heavy rain for two-three days in many districts of Uttarakhand

There is no possibility of Uttarakhand getting relief from rain at the moment. Director of Meteorological Department Vikram Singh said that there is a possibility of heavy rain in most of the districts of the state in the next two-three days.

Meteorological Department officials said that there is a possibility of heavy rain in many districts of the state including Dehradun in the next two-three days. Yellow alert has been issued regarding heavy rain in Pauri, Tehri, Nainital, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar. There is a possibility of heavy rain in these areas till 30 and 31 July.
