New Delhi: The rainfall that has been affecting several states across the country, including Uttar Pradesh, over the past few days is now gradually subsiding. While rainfall activity has decreased in UP, a drop in temperature was recorded in the national capital, Delhi, following Monday’s rain. However, the weather in Delhi may shift again starting Tuesday; the Meteorological Department has forecast rising temperatures and a transition to hot and dry conditions in the capital.
Cloudy skies on Tuesday; low chance of rain
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi may see partly cloudy skies on Tuesday, but the likelihood of rain is low. The maximum temperature in the capital is expected to range between 31 and 33 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is likely to hover between 20 and 22 degrees Celsius.
Delhi’s weather to clear up from Wednesday
The Meteorological Department predicts that the sky over Delhi will remain mainly clear starting Wednesday. Subsequently, the weather in the capital will turn dry, and temperatures may gradually rise. This means that after enjoying the cool spell brought by the rain, Delhi residents may once again face warmer conditions.
Rain to continue in these states
Rainfall activity is expected to continue in the northeastern, eastern, and southern parts of the country on Tuesday. Heavy rain is likely at isolated places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam-Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram-Tripura, South Interior Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.
Additionally, thunderstorms accompanied by rain and gusty winds are forecast for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, and Madhya Maharashtra.
Rain likely in these parts of North India too
Rain may also occur at isolated places in the North-West Indian regions of Jammu & Kashmir-Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and East Rajasthan. However, according to the IMD, the weather in this region is likely to become largely dry from September 30 onwards. Winds may blow at speeds of 55 kmph
According to the Meteorological Department, a deep low-pressure area formed over the North Andaman Sea and near the Myanmar coast is moving towards Myanmar. Under its influence, strong winds with speeds ranging from 45 to 55 kmph are likely to blow on Tuesday across northern Myanmar, the coastal areas of Bangladesh, and the vicinity of the Bay of Bengal. Wind speeds could reach up to 65 kmph in some places.
In view of the rough sea conditions, the Meteorological Department has advised fishermen to avoid venturing into the affected maritime areas.
