Another Indian student dies in America, 10th incident this year

America News: In March this year, 20-year-old Indian student Abhijeet Paruchuru, a resident of Burripalem in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, was murdered in the US. Abhijeet was studying engineering at Boston University.

Indian student dies in America: The cases of deaths of Indian students in America are not stopping. Another Indian student has died in Ohio state. Police is investigating the matter. The Consulate General of India in New York gave this information on Friday. The student has been identified as Uma Satya Sai Gadde, who was studying in Cleveland, Ohio. The Consul General of India in New York said in a post on the social media platform ‘X’, “I am deeply saddened by the unfortunate death of Indian student Uma Satya Sai in Cleveland, Ohio.”  

The Indian Consulate General has assured that all possible help is being provided to the family, including facilitating the transfer of the body to India. The embassy said that the police is investigating the matter and is in touch with the family in India. All possible help is being provided, including sending the student’s body to India as soon as possible.

It is worth noting that since the beginning of 2024, nine Indian and Indian-origin students have died in America and this is the 10th case. 

Last month, in March, 20-year-old Indian student Abhijeet Paruchuru, a resident of Burripalem in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, was murdered in the US. Abhijeet was studying engineering at Boston University. According to the student’s family, he was murdered by an unknown person on the university campus on March 11 and his body was left in a forest in a car. Police found the student’s body while following his mobile signal after a friend complained. 

Earlier this year, Indian student Neel Acharya, who was studying at Purdue University, was also found dead. Indian student Shreyas Reddy was also murdered. Vivek Saini, who lived in Georgia, America, was also found dead. 

These incidents have worried more than 300,000 Indian-origin students living in the United States. Due to these incidents, many challenges are being faced by the students of the Indian community. They are being pushed into things like mental stress, loneliness. Experts have emphasized the need for increased awareness and support systems to address the mental health concerns of international students.
