A Delhi court has allowed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to interrogate three accused persons currently in judicial custody in connection with the NEET UG 2026 paper leak case.
Duty Judge Surender Mohit Singh approved the CBI’s application seeking permission to question accused Manisha Sanjay Waghmare, Dhanunjay Nivrutti Lokhande, and Shubham Madhukar Khairnar inside jail premises.
The agency told the court that the three accused are believed to be key conspirators who allegedly facilitated the leakage and circulation of NEET UG 2026 question papers before the exam held on May 3, in exchange for monetary gains.
According to the CBI, permission for custodial questioning is necessary to obtain clarifications and further evidence as part of its ongoing investigation into the alleged examination malpractice.
So far, the agency has arrested 13 individuals in the case. The NEET UG examination conducted on May 3 was later cancelled by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on May 12 following allegations of a paper leak.
A re-examination has been scheduled for June 21 as authorities continue their probe into the alleged organised leak network.
