Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken a strict stance against police personnel creating social media reels while on duty, describing the practice as a form of indiscipline that undermines the professionalism of the force.
Addressing officials during a review meeting, the Chief Minister emphasized that police personnel should remain focused on their responsibilities and maintain decorum while serving the public. Adityanath said that officers who are known for making reels or social media videos during duty hours should not be deployed at sensitive locations.
He stressed that the police uniform represents discipline, service, and responsibility, and should not be used for social media showmanship. The directive comes amid growing concerns over the increasing trend of police personnel posting videos and reels in uniform on social media platforms. The Chief Minister also directed officials to ensure strict vigilance and professionalism, particularly at crowded public events and sensitive sites.
The move is part of the Uttar Pradesh government’s broader effort to reinforce discipline within the police force and ensure that officers remain focused on law enforcement and public safety duties.
