Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday disbursed over Rs 3,000 crore to farmers across the state under the PM-Kisan Annadatha Sukhibhava welfare scheme at Lingamguntla in Palnadu district.
Annadatha Sukhibava is a poll promise of the TDP-led NDA Government, which offers Rs 20,000 financial aid to eligible farmers per annum.
“The chief minister released funds into the accounts of 46.85 lakh farmers for the Kharif season in 2026. Under the first instalment, a financial aid of Rs 3,125 crore has been deposited at the rate of Rs 7,000 per farmer,” an official release said.
Further, the CM checked out exhibits on the oil palm mission, waste-to-energy plant, oil seeds and others set up at the venue.
Under the Swachh Andhra-Swarna Andhra programme (clean and golden Andhra), he laid the foundation for waste-to-energy plants in Kurnool and Kadapa.
Officials said that these two plants will come into operation by December 2026.
Later, addressing a public meeting at Lingamguntla, the chief minister said the funds, Rs 3,125 crore, for PM-Kisan Annadata Sukhibhava jointly came from the Centre and the State.
Alleging that the previous YSRCP Government had promised to give Rs 12,500 each to farmers per annum, he said it gave only Rs 7,500.
From seed supply to marketing, he said the coalition Government is taking care of farmers’ needs to avoid difficulties.
He accused the YSRCP of engaging in fake propaganda on every issue.
Further, Naidu observed that land should not be contaminated with pesticides and fertilisers, reminding that China had recently rejected three containers of Guntur chillies.
To cater to international markets, the CM said our products must adhere to standards and noted that natural farming is the antidote to fertilisers and pesticides.
