RRB Paramedical Recruitment 2026: There is great news for candidates preparing for government jobs in the Railways. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), under the Ministry of Railways, has issued a notification for the recruitment of various paramedical staff positions. A total of 590 candidates will be selected through this recruitment drive. The recruitment covers 9 different posts, including Nursing Superintendent, Dialysis Technician, Pharmacist, Radiographer, ECG Technician, Optometrist, and Lab Assistant.
The online application process for these posts will begin on September 15, 2026. Interested and eligible candidates can apply until 11:59 PM on October 14, 2026.
Which posts are included in the recruitment?
The RRB paramedical recruitment includes posts such as Nursing Superintendent, Dialysis Technician, Health & Malaria Inspector Grade II, Audiologist & Speech Therapist, Pharmacist, Radiographer/X-Ray Technician, ECG Technician, Optometrist, and Lab Assistant Grade II.
RRB Paramedical Recruitment: Educational Qualifications
Nursing Superintendent: Candidates must possess a B.Sc. in Nursing or a 3-year course in General Nursing and Midwifery from a recognized institution. A certificate as a Registered Nurse and Midwife is also mandatory.
Dialysis Technician: Candidates require a B.Sc. in Hemodialysis along with a diploma, or 2 years of training/experience in the relevant field. A B.Sc. degree in Dialysis Technology is also acceptable.
Health & Malaria Inspector Grade II: Candidates must hold a B.Sc. degree with Chemistry as a subject and a 1-year diploma in Health/Sanitary Inspector or an NTC (National Trade Certificate) from NCVT in the relevant trade.
Audiologist & Speech Therapist: A Bachelor’s degree (BASLP) in Audiology or Speech-Language Pathology and registration with the RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India) are mandatory. Pharmacist: Registration as a pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948, along with a degree or doctorate in Pharmacy, is mandatory.
Radiographer/X-ray Technician: Candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics and Chemistry. Additionally, a 2-year diploma in Radiography, X-ray Technology, or Radiodiagnosis is required.
ECG Technician: Candidates must have passed Class 12 or a bachelor’s degree in Science, along with at least a one-year certificate, diploma, or degree in ECG/Cardiology technology.
Optometrist: A B.Sc. in Optometry or a 3-to-4-year diploma as an Ophthalmic Technician is required. Registration with the relevant council or licensing body is also mandatory.
Lab Assistant Grade II: Candidates who have passed Class 12 in Science are eligible to apply. Additionally, a minimum one-year diploma or equivalent certificate course in Medical Lab Technology (DMLT) is required. A B.Sc. in Medical Lab Technology is also acceptable.
What is the age requirement?
Candidate age will be calculated as of January 1, 2027. Age limits vary by post; the minimum age is 18 years, and the maximum age ranges from 33 to 40 years, depending on the specific post.
The candidate’s date of birth will be determined based on the date recorded in their Matriculation or SSLC certificate. Subsequent changes to the date of birth will not be accepted.
What is the application fee?
Under RRB CEN 05/2026, the application fee for General category candidates is set at ₹500. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, Ex-servicemen, PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities), Female, Transgender, Minority, and EBC categories are required to pay a fee of ₹250.
A portion of the fee will be refunded to candidates who appear for the CBT, in accordance with the prescribed rules. A refund of ₹400 will be issued to General category candidates, while other eligible categories will receive a full refund of the application fee. Bank charges may be deducted from the refund amount.
How will the selection take place?
Candidates for paramedical posts will be selected through three stages:
Computer-Based Test (CBT)
Document Verification (DV)
Medical Examination
The CBT will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions. Candidates will have 90 minutes to complete the exam; however, PwBD/PwD candidates eligible for the scribe facility will be allowed 120 minutes. Each question will have four options, and there will be a negative marking of 1/3 mark for incorrect answers.
