Weather worsens across several parts of the country; warnings issued for heavy rain and strong winds from Delhi to Maharashtra.

The Meteorological Department has issued warnings regarding rain and strong winds for several states. Over the next few hours, some areas may experience torrential downpours, while others are expected to see strong showers accompanied by storms. Wind speeds could reach up to 75 km/h in certain regions.

Cloudy skies, rain, and strong winds in Delhi

The weather in the capital, Delhi, is likely to change on September 16. Along with cloudy skies, light rain or drizzle is expected in some areas. Winds may blow at speeds of 40 to 50 km/h during this period. The daytime temperature in Delhi is forecast to be around 34°C, with a nighttime temperature of 24°C.

Heavy rain alert for Maharashtra

Weather conditions could be disruptive in several districts of Maharashtra today. Heavy rain alerts have been issued for areas including Gadchiroli, Nandurbar, Dhule, Thane, and Nashik. Strong winds accompanying the rain may reach speeds of up to 70 km/h. In Mumbai, the maximum temperature is expected to be 29°C, and the minimum around 26°C.

Rain and storms in Madhya Pradesh

Weather conditions are expected to be turbulent in Madhya Pradesh as well. Moderate to heavy rainfall is likely in several districts, including Dewas, Betul, Harda, Dhar, Vidisha, Chhindwara, Balaghat, Guna, Ujjain, Umaria, Seoni, Mandla, and Jabalpur. These areas may also experience storms and strong winds blowing at speeds of around 60 km/h. In Bhopal, the maximum temperature is expected to be 27°C, and the minimum 24°C.

Rain spell to continue in Rajasthan for 3-4 days

There appears to be no immediate respite from the rain in Rajasthan either. A spell of light to moderate rainfall is likely to continue for the next 3 to 4 days in areas including Jaipur, Udaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Bharatpur, Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, and the Shekhawati region. Winds blowing at speeds of 40 to 45 km/h are expected during this period. In Jaipur, the maximum temperature today is likely to hover around 33°C, with a minimum of 25°C.

Storm and Rain Threat in Gujarat

Strong winds accompanied by rain are forecast for the Panchmahal, Dahod, Aravalli, Kheda, Anand, Mahisagar, and Sabarkantha districts of Gujarat. Wind speeds here could reach up to approximately 50 km/h. Gandhinagar is expected to see a maximum temperature of 32°C and a minimum of 26°C today.

Heavy Rain Alert for Tamil Nadu

Several districts in Tamil Nadu, in southern India, are also likely to experience rainfall. Heavy rain warnings have been issued for Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Erode, Salem, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Vellore, Tirupattur, Ranipet, Madurai, Dindigul, Virudhunagar, Sivaganga, Tiruvannamalai, and Thanjavur.
