Action is also going on against the family of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is jailed in Pakistan. Two more sisters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, Nooreen Niazi and Uzma Khan, have been detained for 30 days. Both were detained under provisions to maintain law and order and later sent to Kot Lakhpat jail.
A day before this, Imran Khan’s sister Alima Khan was also detained and sent to Kot Lakhpat jail. In this way, three sisters of Imran Khan are currently in jail. This action came before PTI’s proposed protest and Islamabad march.
Noorin and Uzma detained for 30 days
According to Geo News report, Noreen Niazi and Uzma Khan have been detained for 30 days. Both have been sent to Kot Lakhpat jail, where Alima Khan is also kept.
PTI is preparing to take out a long march to Islamabad on September 27 demanding the release of Imran Khan and implementation of the Constitution in Pakistan. Meanwhile, political activities have intensified regarding the action taken against Imran Khan’s family members.
Geo News had earlier reported that Alima Khan’s two sons Shahraj Khan and Sher Shah were also detained in Lahore. However, according to lawyer Rana Mudassir, both were released after some time.
Government warning before Islamabad march
The Pakistan government has also adopted a strict stance regarding PTI’s proposed Islamabad march. Minister of State for Home Talal Chaudhary has warned the protesters that people coming peacefully will not face any trouble, but strict action will be taken against those resorting to violence or terrorism.
Talal Chaudhary said that peace-loving citizens can come to Islamabad, but those who come as terrorists will not be allowed to return.
Meanwhile, PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Akbar has said that party workers will reach the capital of Pakistan through multiple routes. This march of PTI is being organized for the demands related to the release of Imran Khan and the constitutional system.
